Century employees are reaching out to Missouri’s Congressional members who represent the district they live in to urge them not to tax credit unions.

Removing the federal tax-exempt status of credit unions would jeopardize the survival of over 4,500 credit unions across the nation, harm the financial well-being of more than 140 million credit union members, and reduce the essential benefits credit unions provide to their communities and consumers.

Century members are joining this fight because a new tax on credit unions is, in effect, a new tax on them.

In early March, Century President Joshua Wallace, along with other credit union leaders from the state, met on Capitol Hill with federal lawmakers from Missouri to ensure Congress understands the unique role credit unions play in serving communities.

We appreciate the time and attention given by U.S. Senator Eric Schmitt, as well as staff members from U.S. Senator Josh Hawley’s office and U.S. Representative Jason Smith’s office.
