It really pays to be a kid at Century

Welcome to Dollar Den — our super-fun savings club just for kids ages 12 and younger. Excitement, financial literacy, and awesome rewards are blended to make saving money a blast for your children!

Meet Penny the Hedgehog, our Dollar Den mascot! Penny is not just cute and spiky — she's got some sharp ideas about saving, too. Just like hedgehogs need a cozy nest for shelter, your child needs a safe place to stash away money they may receive on their birthdays, doing chores around the house, or running a lemonade stand.

HEAR WHAT OUR MEMBERS SAY

One of the ways in which Century Credit Union has benefited my family is through my children's savings accounts. Both my son and daughter have savings accounts that have taught them the responsibility of saving money. They have learned the value of setting money aside for future expenses, and I have been able to teach them valuable financial lessons that will serve them well in the future.

Opening a Dollar Den Kids' Club Account

Start your child's financial journey.

  1. Apply online or bring your child and their Social Security card to a branch.
  2. Complete a membership application with a parent or guardian as a joint owner.
  3. Deposit $1 or more. Receive a bag of goodies if applying in person.

Preparing for a successful financial future

Our Dollar Den Kids' Club helps teach children essential savings habits, preparing them for a secure financial future. The joy of managing their own account just like Mom and Dad is a priceless dividend!

Adults can set up regular deposits into their child's account through payroll deduction.4

When your child turns 13, their account transitions to a Boost Club account with new benefits, including the chance to earn a $1,500 or $1,000 scholarship and open a six-month Teen CD that pays a very high rate of return!

1 High dividends are paid out quarterly, so your child's money compounds quickly.

2 Cash is awarded and electronically deposited into your child's account after their 6th, 12th, 18th and 24th in-person deposits. The amount gradually increases at each milestone. At account opening, your child is given a special stamp card to track deposits. Once their stamp card is full of 24 stamps, your child is given the option of receiving $10, a movie ticket, or a plush Penny the Hedgehog stuffed animal.

3 Your child can receive $1 for every 'A' or equivalent earned, up to $5 per quarter. Just bring them and their report card into the credit union.

4 Payroll deduction transactions don't qualify for cash rewards, as we encourage kids to save money that they may receive on their birthdays, from an allowance, etc.
